COLNAGO C64 ART DECOR SUPER RECORD EPS ROAD BIKE (SLOPING GEOMETRY)
Renowned for designing and manufacturing framesets of the highest quality, Colnago has reached their 64th year. To celebrate, they have brought out the latest in their 'C' range, the C64. This road bike has a stunning art decor design with a sloping geometry, and has been specced with top-end Campagnolo Super Record EPS components.
The geometry remains the same as the C60, however, there have been a number of updates to enhance stiffness, power transfer and comfort. The frame is constructed from the finest quality carbon fibre, with the 3K weave being replaced with lighter UD (unidirectional) carbon. The headtube retains the same overall shape but is thinner and lighter with increased side stiffness, and Colnago has incorporated the Concept headset with its proven technology. A revision to the upper cup material improves vibration damping and subsequently enhances rider comfort.
The downtube is narrower to match the revised rear triangle and the bottle cage area is recessed, creating two ribs in the middle of the downtube; maximising aerodynamics while increasing torsional rigidity. The seat tube and seat tube lug now form a single piece to decrease weight and further increase the overall stiffness. The C64 has a seat clamp with a co-moulded alloy bed and a single removable part that tightens from the bottom. This design offers clean aesthetics and reduces the weight by about 15 grams. Vertical compliance is also improved thanks to the aerodynamic seatpost.
The classic Colnago ThreadFit 82.5 bottom bracket has been updated to have the cable guide moulded into the lug to offer improved shifting, while the asymmetric chainstays enhance power transfer. Complete with Ceramic Speed bearings you can be sure of top performance that lasts.
The rear triangle has had some dramatic changes. With the dropouts and chainstays now having a one-piece construction, weight is reduced, vertical compliance is increased and lateral stiffness is retained so that all your watts are efficiently transferred to the road.
The carbon fork has a new external rib shape for improved comfort and ride quality. An internal rib in the steerer tube is both strong and rigid, and the fork houses the pivots for direct-mount brakes so 28mm tyres can be fitted. Carbon dropouts replace the alloy versions featured on the C60.
A full carbon handlebar and stem have been designed specifically for the C64 and the stem features a bottom port to accommodate brake cables. Rolling on Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50 Clincher Wheels and Vittoria CX Graphene Tyres, you can be sure of efficient power transfer, rigidity, and comfort.
Super Record EPS is Campagnolo's top-end electronic groupset and makes for reliable, smooth shifting at just the touch of a button, while the powerful braking inspires confidence on the fastest of descents.
